To enrich the leisure needs and quality of life for citizens by providing accessible facilities, creative and diverse recreation opportunities and a safe public park system.
All people in Carrboro, of all races and backgrounds, will have safe and equitable access to recreational and cultural opportunities, including a connected network of parks, green space, and trails. The Carrboro community comes together year-round through creative programming and events that celebrate the Town's history, unique essence, and diverse range of cultures through festivals, music, and the arts.
The Carrboro Recreation, Parks, & Cultural Resources Department offers leisure programs and events along with eleven parks and one indoor facility. The programs and events offered throughout the year range from instructional classes to athletic leagues to large community events, such as the Carrboro Music Festival.
Registration for programs occurs during three different registration sessions during the calendar year. Each registration session is accompanied by a program brochure that becomes available to the public at least two weeks prior to the start of the registration session. The following table indicates when registration occurs for most programs:
* Summer Camp Registration Begins in Winter/Spring
